Despite months of anti-Obama and pro-Romney tweets, Philadelphia 76ers' backup center Spencer Hawes was unable to swing the election in favor of the Republican candidate. Romney soundly lost the electoral college, in addition to the national popular vote — and even Hawes' Pennsylvania by more than a quarter of a million votes.

"I'm disappointed," said Hawes. "Very disappointed. I was hoping my 30,914 followers — wait. Make that 30,910. Looks like I got unfollowed by a few more people. Anyway, I was hoping my … 30,904 followers would be enough to tip the election. But they weren't. And now freedom and liberty are dead."

The former Washington Huskies and Sacramento Kings player said he expects things to get much worse now that Obama has a second term.

"No hope. No change. Nobama," he said, echoing a tweet from @spencerhawes00. "Are we really better off than we were four years ago? I know I'm not. I was a starter in Sacramento four years ago. I'm not here and it's only going to get worse. When Andrew Bynum comes back, my playing time will drop even more. But that's Obama's America."
