<p>Things could be better at Southern Cal.</p><br  />
<p>Mark Sanchez left unexpectedly (unexpectedly to Pete Carroll, at least). Presumptive starting quarterback Aaron Corp missed two weeks of summer practice with a cracked fibula. While he was out, true freshman Matt Barkley took the job. Barkley is the first true freshman to start at quarterback in <span class="caps">USC</span>&#039;s history, and true freshman tend not to win national championships. On defense, eight starters from last season&#039;s unit are gone. And now starting receiver Ronald Johnson is going to miss six-to-eight weeks with a broken collarbone.</p><br  />...]]></description>
