News Chris Johnson to Miss Titans' Week 6 Game Due to Personal Day

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson says he has put in for a personal day and will miss the team's Week 6 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I don't know. Apparently it's in his contract," said head coach Mike Munchak. "I don't know how we gave him a contract that allows him to take personal days on a game day. More evidence it is the worst contract a football team has ever given a player."

Johnson said the reasons for his personal day "aren't anyone's business," but later admitted he "needs a mental health day."

"I'm just spent from running behind my shitty offensive line," said Johnson, who has just 210 yards on the season on 2.9 yards per carry. "So I'm just going to crash on the couch and watch movies and get some take-out. I'll get refreshed and play again next week."

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin admitted the news of Johnson's personal day will impact Pittsburgh's game plan.

"Any late change like this affects you," he said. "We've had our scout team back tiptoeing and stutter stepping all week behind the line of scrimmage. Now we'll have to prepare for someone who runs forward. We'll cope the best we can."

News Holdout Titans RB Chris Johnson Reports to Eagles Camp

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson ended his holdout today and reported to his first practice of training camp.

"I was really excited to see him out here. He looks like he's in great shape and ready to go," said Eagles head coach Andy Reid. "I was also surprised to see him, because I think he's still on the Titans, right? Did he just drive up here last night?"

While Johnson says he still wants a new contract, he is itching to play and has been following all of the Eagles' preseason hype.

"Let's say the Titans even give me a new contract," said Johnson. "What does that accomplish? I'm still playing for a shitty team. Nah, I'm an Eagle now."

NFL rules prohibit a player from suiting up for a team he is not under contract with, but Johnson says he has a way around that.

"I haven't run this by my agent yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work — I'll just change my name to Cris Johnson with no 'h' in 'Chris' and then I'll be a different name than what's on the Titans contract," said Johnson. "I'll be free to sign with the Eagles then, right? Well, it makes sense to me."
