Savvy fans cascade opponent with chants of "Underrated!"

During the final moments of Notre Dame's 84-71 loss to Syracuse at home on Monday night, Fighting Irish fans at the Joyce Center broke into chants of "Un-der-rated! Un-der-rated!", showing their appreciation and respect for a talented Orange squad. "We were talking amongst ourselves in the crowd and came to the consensus that Syracuse is actually better than fifth," said Notre Dame fan Scott Dixon, a sophomore. "They've only lost once, to a good Pitt team. They are for real and we wanted to acknowledge that." The fans went with "Underrated!" after determining the chant "You are a credit to yourselves and the game of basketball!" was a bit unwieldy. However, the crowd was unable to choose between "Overrated!" or "You have no future in this sport, you giant turd!" as a chant for Irish forward Luke Harangody.
