Recruit's inability to spell his name on letter of intent creates awkwardness
Standout prep linebacker Michael Jones announced his intention to attend the University of Florida today, but the press conference at his high school was delayed while the all-state star struggled to read the commitment letter and spell his name. Eventually the ceremony concluded when Jones' high school coach summoned an English teacher to help him make his mark. Florida coach Urban Meyer said he wishes the recruit's coach had followed his instructions. "We ask our recruits to choose a hat, not read or write," he said. "Nothing good can come of that stuff."
