Krzyzewski Inspires Class of 4th Graders with Expletive-Filled Motivational Speech

On Tuesday, just three days before his team is to play its first game in the NCAA Tournament, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski took time out from his busy schedule to speak to a class of fourth graders at a Durham elementary school.

Titled “Live to Achieve: Stop Being Such Big F—king P—sies,” Krzyzewski implored the fourth graders to reach for their dreams.

“Coach K got right up in my face, screaming and spitting, and told me I was a piece of sh-t and a motherf—ker and that if I wanted to do anything with my life to f—king listen to him or get out of his f—king sight,” said Tommy Lyons, an eight-year old fourth grader. “He made me cry and pee in my pants.”

Kathy Mann, the class’s teacher, said she was honored to have the legendary coach speak to her class, but thought it could have gone better.

“He got pretty angry at me because there was one girl in class wearing light blue socks and he told me I had ‘no common f—king decency’ to let kids wear ‘Carolina f—king blue’ on the same day he was speaking to the class,” said Mann. “He said that I was an ‘a—hole’ that makes him ‘f—king sick’ and that I didn’t deserve to be in charge of ‘little f—king children.’”

Krzyzewski, whose community service is trumpeted by his backers, said he welcomes opportunities to speak to children as a means to keep up his image.

“I prefer to just make a donation to some f—king charity or another, but I need to have my face out there from time to time so people don’t get the impression that I’m a f—king phony and just do all this crap to help recruiting,” he said.

“As great of a coach as Coach K is, he’s even a better man – as evidenced by him coming into our school today,” said Linda McMichael, the school’s principal. “We’ll just have to stress the next time he comes by that he try not to speak to the kids like he does to his players. And to the refs. And to most everyone, really.”
