Wife Killed for Saying Score Backwards

Susan Williams will never say a score backwards again.

The last words Susan Williams spoke were: Its 27 to 38.
Moments later her husband of 12 years plunged a six-inch knife blade into her back, ensuring that Susan Williams would never say a sports score backwards again.
While the exact circumstances surrounding Susan Williams final moments are still coming out, this much is clear: the wife and mother of three was murdered for her complete lack of comprehension that sports scores are to be said with the higher score first.
The tragedy continues a trend seen across the country.
Study after study has shown that one of the leading causes of domestic violence in the United States is incorrect score saying.
Three to five. 7-14. 59 points to 62 points.
No matter how it is said, many women are being abused for a seeming inability to say sports scores the right way.
And just as domestic violence stemming from alcohol abuse or infidelity can lead to tragedy, so can that which comes from saying scores backwards. Susan Williams is not the first to lose her life after announcing a score. There are nearly 100 similar cases nationwide that have been reported in the last year.
Domestic violence for any reason is wrong, said Ellen Bates-Myers, director of the Violence on Women Institute. But we do try to stress to women that simply saying sports scores correctly can diminish violent actions to a degree.
The studies have shown that women fall into four categories: those that say scores correctly, those that have learned to say them correctly, those that cant seem to grasp the right way to say scores, and those that know the right way, yet still choose to announce scores incorrectly. It is these last two groups that are in the greatest danger.
Many men have a very tough time dealing with a woman who for whatever reason will not give the higher number in a sports score first, said Bates-Myers. It is seen as a hostile action against something that is both simple and sacred to a man. The frustration and rage that this brings too often boils over.
And it boiled over in the Williams house.
Frank Williams, Susans husband, has admitted to the crime
and to its causes. While being lead from the scene of the crime in handcuffs, he simply said: I told her time and again that you say the higher score first.
