“I was just staring at Sam because he is gay and distracting,” said Rams first rounder Aaron Donald. “The next thing I knew, my wallet and my watch were gone.”
Fellow first rounder Greg Robinson said he had $2,000 in cash taken from his pocket and an iPhone while being distracted.
“I don’t have anything negative to say about Michael, but I don’t know if I can afford him being on the team,” said the former Auburn tackle. “I’m for equality, but $2,000 is a lot of money.”
Donald, Robinson and other rookies said they’ll have to stop taking valuables into the locker room as long as Sam is distracting everyone.
“I can’t say this isn’t worrisome,” said head coach Jeff Fisher. “If the veterans had reported, I can’t imagine how much would have been taken. Older people tend to get distracted even easier by gays.”
A rival general manager says the incident proves the concerns many in the NFL had about Sam have merit.
“Was Sam purposely causing a distraction with his gayness so his teammates would get robbed?” said the GM. “There’s really no way to know. He may have been in on it. But the investigation will no doubt be a distraction to the team. And that’s on Sam and those who drafted him.”
