The Miami Heat today issued a statement on the team's official website encouraging their fans to leave their cars idling in the parking lot during Game 7 in order to allow for quicker departure should the team fall behind.
"The flood of fans out of American Airlines Arena partway through the fourth quarter causes a big build up of traffic exiting our parking lots," read the statement. "But if you keep your car idling, you can just jump in and drive off getting a head-start on all of your fellow fans who have given up on the Heat for the night!"
The Heat also said they will have a line of public buses and taxis lined up outside all major arena exits at the start of the fourth quarter to further ease the departure of the fans.
Additionally, should the Heat come back and take the lead after fans give up on them and leave the arena, the team is offering the opportunity to reenter by buying another ticket.
"With our new Oh, Great! They're Still Good! Ticket Program, fans can get back into a game they've left by buying a reentry ticket for just 50-percet of the face value of their original ticket," said Heat president Pat Riley. "I really think this program caters to the unique needs of Heat fans."
The Heat also said they will sell Spurs championship apparel outside of American Airlines Arena should San Antonio win Game 7.
