World Series of Birding
What is it?: Held annually since 1984, contestants compete to identify the highest number of bird species.
Where in the world is it held?: Cape May, New Jersey
Fun Fact: The state bird of New Jersey is the Eastern Goldfinch and not the middle finger or even The Situation's penis.
World Series of Beer Pong
What is it?: The World Series of Beer Pong features more than 1,000 participants from — according to the tournament's website — "45 U.S. States and 5 Canadian Provinces" (Two countries? WHOA! That's as big as the baseball World Series!) competing for a $50,000 grand prize.
Where in the world is it held? Las Vegas
Fun Fact: Pabst Blue Ribbon is the official beer of the World Series of Beer Pong, which serves as great motivation to win the $50,000 grand prize so you never have to buy crap beer again.
World Series of Flip Cup
What is it?: Held since 2006, the World Series of Flip Cup provides another beer-centric World Series for those who don't compete in the World Series of Beer Pong or play for the Boston Red Sox.
Where in the world is it held? Location varies
Fun Fact: The WSOFC requires that "All participants must be 21 or older and have health insurance to play." Last one to not be rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisoning wins!
World Series of Darts
What is it?: Contested just one time, in 2006, it was cancelled after that due to poor ratings. Who could have ever predicted a dart tournament wouldn't become a television hit?
Where in the world was it held?: Mohegan Sun Resort, Connecticut
Fun Fact: The grand prize was $1 million, if won by an American, and $100,000 if won by a non-American. A rare World Series that openly gave the finger to the world. Have to respect that.
"World Series of Pop Culture"
What is it?: A pop culture quiz show that aired for two seasons on VH1 from 2006 to 2007.
Where in the world was it held?: Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City
Fun Fact: This question was never asked on the show: "Name the unwatchable pop culture quiz show that was cancelled after just two seasons."
World Series of Football
What is it?: A football tournament held in 1902 and 1903 that consisted of five teams — four from New York and one from New Jersey. You know, the world.
Where in the world was it held?: Madison Square Garden in New York City
Fun Fact: The games were played on an earthen floor at the Garden and the field was only 70 yards long and 35 yards wide. That had to really cut down on fantasy stats.
World Series of Philately
What is it?: Despite how it might sound, the World Series of Philately is not an oral sex competition. Instead, it's an invitation-only exhibition of winning exhibits from national stamp shows of the preceding year. So, yeah, not an oral orgy. In fact, no one who collects stamps has ever even kissed a girl.
Where in the world is it held?: Location varies
Fun Fact: There's nothing fun about stamps. Sorry.
