Definite Proof Punch-Out!!!’s Doc Louis Tried to Kill Little Mac

Boxing has been plagued by scandal throughout its history.

But this may be the biggest boxing scandal of all-time. Little Mac's trainer, Doc Louis, tried to have him killed.

Here's the evidence.

The Opponents

Doc Louis regularly scheduled Little Mac to face fighters who dwarfed the young boxer. He paid no heed to established weight classes. In the above example, note that Little Mac's entire upper body was barely the size of one of Super Macho Man's pecs.

In fact, the only character in the game who was even close to Little Mac's size was Mario, the ref. And we all know that Mario possessed skills that would destroy a mere boxer.

The Outfits

Pink? Really? An all-pink track suit? In Brooklyn in the late '80s? Brooklyn of the '80s wasn't exactly as enlightened as it is today.

The only explanation is that Doc Louis was hoping Mac would get jumped and beaten.

The Drugs

Look at those two. High as a kite. Their eyes are bulging out of their heads. Doc Louis — who no doubt had plenty of access to drugs — obviously shot Mac full of something, hoping the drugs, mixed with some natural pre-fight adrenaline, would make the kid's heart explode.

The Advice

"KEEP YOUR GUARD UP"? What kind of crap advice is that? Little Mac had fought twice professionally, he was facing a 26-1 fighter who outweighed him by at least 100 pounds, and that's all Doc Louis had to say. "KEEP YOUR GUARD UP!"

Useless. Hell, even Mac's opponent offered him better advice in suggesting the use of a helmet.

Plus, Doc's words came out of his mouth as garbled computer talk. Even the worthless advice he did give had to be translated.

The Weight Training

Look at that body. Ridiculously disproportionate arms connected to a child-like chest that go down to womanly, child-bearing hips. Doc's weight program built that body. And he did it to get Little Mac killed.

The Liability

If Doc couldn't kill Little Mac, he was hell-bent on at least making him go broke. Here he scheduled Mac to fight someone who was blatantly injured and instructed him to punch King Hippo repeatedly in the bandage. It's shocking Mac was never sued.

The Cheat Code

The definitive proof. "Hey, Little Mac. I know you're a weak, undersized fighter who is just starting out in the sport. But, yes, you should use that code your friend at school gave you to fight the most fearsome and insane heavyweight in history. Go for it!"

The Personal Attempt on Mac's Life

Years later, upset with the lack of results, Doc took killing Mac into his own hands. Look at the hate in his eyes. He would stop at nothing to take over as the face of the Punch-Out!!! franchise.

And where is Little Mac today? No one knows.

It's time we find out. It's time we bring Doc Louis to justice.
