Cleveland Indians: 2010 Preview

SportsPickle is previewing each MLB team in the lead up to Opening Day 2010.
Today:Cleveland Indians (2009: 65-97, T-last in AL Central)

STARTING PITCHINGNo. 1 starter Jake Westbrook hasn't pitched in almost two years. No. 2 starter Fausto Carmonais 13-19 with 5.89 ERA over the past two seasons. The rest of the rotation is young and unproven. It might be the worst rotation in baseball. Now the good news: Indians fans will never have to see any of these guys pitching Game 1 of the World Series for other teams.
LINEUP … Grady Sizemore is a legitimate star. But beyond Asdrubal Cabrera and Shin-Soo Choo, there's not much help. With Sizemore moving out of the leadoff spot this year, will he be exposed by his lack of support? Someone needs to step up for the Indians this year and keep that cup of tea in place.
BULLPENKerry Wood got comfortable in his first season as Cleveland's closer as the year went along, posting a5.28 ERA in first half, but a 2.96 ERA after break. The rest of the bullpen should be more consistent with an ERA near 5.28 all season long.
BENCH …Mark Grudzielanek and Mike Redmond will provide veteran leadership off the bench. Specifically: leadership of the do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do variety.
