Ricky Deguard, a lowly-regarded offensive line recruit from Ellerbe, Tenn., announced today that he will uphold his commitment to Tennessee despite head coach Lane Kiffin leaving the program for USC. "I wanted to come here for Tennessee, not for Lane Kiffin," Degaurd said at a press conference attended by his parents, granparents and a reporter from his high school newspaper. "My only offers were here or Western Kentucky. Or I could just take a job at the down at the mine." Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton expressed regret over Deguard's decision. "I plan to talk to him to try to convince him to go to USC with Lane," he said.
