Poor start sends Cole Hamels to the bubble bath early

After yielding five runs in just 4 1/3 innings against the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the World Series, Phillies starter Cole Hamels was pulled from the game by Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel and sent to the bubble bath. "I learned long ago that Cole doesn't shower," said Manuel. "The first time I told him to hit the showers, he spent five minutes telling me how baths were better for his skin and that the natural soaps and lotions he uses relaxes him and nourishes and replenishes his dermis or something stupid like that. So I learned right away to never bring it up again." Hamels has struggled for the Phillies this postseason, going 1-2 with a 7.58 ERA in four starts. But he says it's not all bad. "My skin is absolutely radiant," said the pitcher. "I can usually get a good two hours of soaking in before the game is over and the team comes into the locker room. I've never felt more beautiful."
