On a night intended to honor new NHL Hall of Fame inductees Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch, Brett Hull, Steve Yzerman and Lou Lamoriello, a drunken Michael Jordan commandeered the microphone and spoke for 50 minutes about how he easily could have been the greatest hockey player of all-time. "It just wouldn't have been a challenge for me," said Jordan, as to why he chose to never dominate the sport. "And all of you here today are lucky that's true. Also, I can't skate." Jordan then spent 15 minutes calling out past NHL players by name to humiliate them. "I remember seeing Clint Malarchuk get his throat slit open by a skate," said Jordan. "All I could think was: 'What a pussy.'" Yzerman said he didn't think Jordan ruined the ceremony entirely. "He can show up. That's the known risk with stuff like this," said the former Red Wing. "You just have to wait it out. I mean, what are you going to do — tell Michael Jordan to shut up? It's Michael Jordan."
