There are only a few days until the start of the MLB playoffs and SportsPickle is previewing each playoff team. Today: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
AL West Champion / AL #2 seed / Divisional round opponent: Boston Red Sox
As much attention as the Yankees get for their recent postseason failures, the Angels haven't been any better.
Since winning the World Series in 2002, the Angels have made the playoffs four times, three times losing in the LDS and once in the LCS. They've lost in their elimination series' a combined 13 games to two. And the Red Sox have knocked the Angels out of the playoffs each of the last two years — and it's the Red Sox who the Angels are scheduled to play again this year.
What is it that is causing the Angels to lose year after year? They are consistently a good pitching, hitting and fielding team. So it's not baseball ability.
It must be something beyond that.
It must be something cosmic.
Ha-ha! You ripped off a movie about the Pirates.
